“Félix Tshisekedi, a President at the service of the development of the DRC: return on his visit to Kananga and Mbuji-Mayi”

Portrait of Félix Tshisekedi, the Congolese Head of State, who recently visited the Kasaï area. After his visit to Kananga, he continued his stay in Mbuji-Mayi, in Kasai Oriental. While traveling through these cities, the President held various activities, both to encourage ongoing development projects and to honor local events.

On Sunday, June 25, Félix Tshisekedi participated in the silver jubilee of Mgr Bernard-Emmanuel Kasanda, bishop of the diocese of Mbuji-Mayi. However, he also visited various infrastructures being rehabilitated and built in the city. In particular, he laid the first stone of the new town of Bena Ntumba, 5 km from Mbuji-Mayi.

Before that, the Head of State had gone to Kananga, where he launched an anti-erosion program financed by the World Bank to the tune of 100 million USD. Objective: eliminate the 12 erosions identified in Kananga.

Félix Tshisekedi’s trips to Kananga and Mbuji-Mayi are part of his policy to promote the development of the country’s provinces. The Head of State is currently on tour through the different regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo and takes the opportunity to visit the infrastructures of the provinces and encourage promising initiatives.

Félix Tshisekedi also multiplies meetings with local actors, in particular political leaders and representatives of civil society. Indeed, the Congolese President wishes to work together with these actors to assess the needs of each province and define priority projects.

In short, Félix Tshisekedi’s trips to Kananga and Mbuji-Mayi prove that the DRC’s development policy is a priority for the Head of State. Concrete projects are being launched in various provinces and the President is personally involved in encouraging promising initiatives
