Next week, the ordinary session of the 2023 edition of the state exam will begin in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This exam will be held from Monday June 26 to Thursday June 29 in all the provinces of the DRC.
This test is the last of the certification exams for the 2022-2023 school year, which will end on July 1. The parents of the finalists from all the schools must pay an amount of 31,000 FC for the participation of their children in this event. However, the headteacher of a school in Kisenso has called for the exam to be free, as many parents find it difficult to pay the participation fee.
Although the management of these fees is ensured by a provincial committee formed by the provincial director and each provincial inspectorate in charge of the collection of fees in its jurisdiction, delays have been observed in the payment of these fees by some schools. Interveners, such as heads of centers and their deputies, supervisors, supervisors, heads of lines, judicial police officers assigned to the examination centers, are supposed to be financed by these fees.
Despite the budget provided for this review, the Minister of Higher and University Education, Steve Mbikayi, had requested its removal because of the fraud associated with its organization and its budgetary impact.
In conclusion, the 4 days of the exam will be a baptism of fire for the finalists of the DRC secondary, and we wish good luck to all the participants
