DRC: Michel Bongongo, support for Félix Tshisekedi for the presidential election
Michel Bongongo, the former Minister of Public Service and president of the ABC-RDC party (Action for the Well-being of the communities of the Democratic Republic of Congo), announced his support for the candidacy of Félix Tshisekedi for the presidential election in December 2023. In an interview with the press in Kinshasa, he praised the “satisfactory” record of the current head of state, stressing the need to continue the current momentum to redress the country. He praised the progress made in various sectors: diplomacy, democratic expression, security, the fight against corruption and the embezzlement of public funds, infrastructure, the reduction of the tax on remuneration (IPR), the increase in military pensions and free primary education.
Michel Bongongo also underlined the efforts deployed in the consolidation of the republican army and the mobilization of the Congolese youth, but however, he admitted the costly nature of the war for the populations.
The ABC-RDC party is a member of the Sacred Union of the Nation, a political platform that supports the candidacy of Félix Tshisekedi for the presidential election of December 2023.
