“Eastern Kasai: the UDPS Tshisekedi demands the resignation of the governor and calls for a peaceful march”

Tension is rising in the province of Kasai Oriental where the UDPS Tshisekedi party is demanding the resignation of Governor Mathias Kabeya Matshi. Indeed, in a correspondence addressed to the mayor of the city of Mbuji-mayi, the federation of the UDPS Tshisekedi confirms its descent into the street this Friday, June 23 to denounce the mismanagement of public affairs on the part of the governor. Pierre Kabakila reported that the peaceful march will start from Mua Luse towards the roundabout of the star, to end in the provincial governorate.

Mathias Kabeya, senior executive of the UDPS, has not been in the odor of sanctity with his party for a few days. Indeed, the UDPS Tshisekedi federation of Mbuji-mayi criticizes him for his incompetence at the head of the province, which it describes as “poorly managed”. This situation bears witness to the political turmoil in the DRC a few months before the general elections and the approach of the presidential term.

The situation in the province of Kasai Oriental also reflects the difficulties of local authorities in managing public affairs, particularly in the fight against corruption and embezzlement. However, peaceful demonstrations such as the one scheduled for today make it possible to make the voice of the population heard and to put pressure on politicians to assume their responsibilities.
