2023-06-23: Jean-Claude Vuemba Luzamba resigns as President of the Kongo-Central Provincial Assembly
This Friday, June 23, 2023, Jean-Claude Vuemba Luzamba submitted his resignation from the presidency of the Provincial Assembly of Kongo-Central, following a petition signed by 30 of his fellow provincial deputies, asking for his withdrawal of confidence. Before his official declaration, he proceeded to the restitution of all his property and personal effects as well as the property of the Provincial Assembly, by handing over to the quaestor, Nzolani Kuyadilua Lauriane, the command hammer, the ignition keys of the vehicle of function, microphones, etc.
Jean-Claude Vuemba, honorary president of the deliberating body, expressed his love and his patriotism to serve his province, Kongo-Central, which he helped to restore social peace and serenity. Nevertheless, he resigned from his position due to an unjustified revolt from certain colleagues and the lack of confidence which weighs on his person. He wanted the province to remain an example of lasting peace and call for collective responsibility.
Ultimately, this unexpected resignation of Jean-Claude Vuemba is an important event for the province of Kongo-Central and will be closely followed.
