“Drama in Beni: a resident dies following wasp attacks in his field”

The city of Beni, located in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), was the scene of a tragedy during the morning of Wednesday June 21. The lifeless body of Katembo Kanzoa, a resident of the Pasisi district, was discovered there in his field by a local resident, alerted by the presence of a swarm of wasps.

According to Nasson Murara, communicator of the Congolese national police station urban Beni, the victim would have died as a result of attacks by these insects while trying to dislodge them. The first investigations carried out by the technical and scientific police (PTS) of the PNC Ciat of Beni seem to corroborate this hypothesis.

Katembo Kanzoa’s family was traumatized by the tragedy, and the victim’s body was evacuated by judicial police officer Isaac Bin-ngeve from Beni.

This tragic story is a reminder of the importance of taking precautions to avoid accidents. Insect bites can be deadly, especially for people with allergies. It is essential to have adequate information on the prevention of such a scenario and the first aid to be given.

While awaiting the conclusions of the official investigations, the family of Katembo Kanzoa and the inhabitants of Beni are in mourning, hoping that this tragedy will never happen again.
