Cooperation between the Democratic Republic of Congo and China remains a top priority for President Felix Tshisekedi. This desire was expressed during his visit to Shanghai, during which he spoke with the general secretary of the city’s Communist Party, Chen Jining. President Tshisekedi especially insisted on the protection of the achievements of this bilateral collaboration, given the notable achievements in terms of infrastructure in the DRC.
According to a source at the Congolese presidency, Chen Jining recalled China’s desire to deepen its relationship with the DRC as well as with other African countries. This new Chinese philosophy advocates sincerity and frankness. This visit to Shanghai marks the second leg of President Tshisekedi’s visit to China.
