Organization of the Francophone Games in Kinshasa: the Tata Raphaël stadium ready to host the event
The Tata Raphaël stadium, one of the sites that will host the 9th Games of La Francophonie, from July 28 to August 6, in Kinshasa, is currently undergoing a complete renovation cure. Construction and rehabilitation work is progressing at high speed, according to officials of the Alliance des Bâtisseurs Congolais (ABC), a consortium of Congolese companies.
“We have evolved almost everywhere and on all levels. We are just waiting for the lawn and the small finishes,” said an ABC official.
This renovation work, carried out by the ABC, is part of the preparation for the Games of La Francophonie. They will provide Kinshasa with new, modern and efficient infrastructure.
“Led by the hands of a master by its director general, Cédric Lungu, the ABC intends to deliver with a patriotic burst a high-end work likely to reflect the new dynamic impelled by the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi”, specified Anthony Mabika, in charge of mission and communication of the ABC.
The DRC is actively preparing for the organization of these games which will be decisive for the future of this changing country. The construction and rehabilitation of sports infrastructure continues in a climate of enthusiasm while awaiting the arrival of athletes and international delegations in a few weeks.
Holding this event is a major challenge for the DRC and the Francophonie. It will enable the country to showcase its strengths and strengthen its ties with all the member countries of La Francophonie. It is also an opportunity for Kinshasa to discover or even rediscover this city, its culture and its heritage to foreign visitors.
