Article: State and administration of the national territory in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Security and Customary Affairs, Péter Kazadi, presented Friday, May 26, 2023, during an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, the report on the state and administration of the territory national in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
According to him, the week that has just passed was marked by the expectations of the trip of the President of the Republic at the head of a large delegation to the People’s Republic of China. But also by the activism of M23/RDF terrorists in the Tongo group, Rutshuru territory, and the upsurge of the Kuluna phenomenon in the country’s major cities, particularly in Kinshasa.
The Deputy Minister of the Interior, Security and Customary Affairs reported the surrender in Kinshasa of 279 Yaka insurgents from the villages of Entrac, Kinsele, Mfumu-Nkento, Bukana, and Kizono. He then reassured the Council on the measures put in place to deal with this situation of insecurity.
After the presentation of this report, the Council took note of the situation, but it is important to ensure the safety of all citizens of the DRC. Recent news unfortunately shows that the security situation in the country remains very worrying.
