Pascaline Zamuda appointed Deputy General Manager of FONHAB in the DRC

The evening of May 25 saw several appointments to the national channel (RTNC), including that of Ms. Pascaline Zamuda as Deputy Director General of the National Housing Fund (FONHAB) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This social entrepreneur is also a gender consultant and is president of the NGO Recovery Framework for Youth Development (CREEIJ Asbl) which works in South Kivu. She has campaigned against sexual violence in eastern Congo for more than 10 years and is a member of several associations, including the Association of Media Women of South Kivu.

The government created FONHAB on October 2, 2018 to promote the construction of social housing in the DRC. The fund’s mission is to collect funds for the financing of activities in the housing sector, to finance the construction of affordable housing for the populations each year, to encourage public-private partnership in the field of housing, among other tasks.

Other appointments on the evening of May 25 included Agnès Banatshinyi Tshitenge named PCA, Alexis Kadima Lubemba named CEO of the Fund, as well as Gaston Mutombo and Mireille Mwilarhe as members of the Board of Directors.

These appointments at the RTNC have sparked reactions and analyzes on social networks. However, it is important to emphasize that these appointments are a positive sign that the DRC government is putting in place initiatives for the development of social housing in the country.
