Title: Start of activities at the Musienene special economic zone in the DRC.

The special economic zone of Musienene, in the province of North Kivu, is in full development. A quadrilateral delegation from the Ministry of Industry, ANAPI, the Industry Promotion Fund and the Special Economic Zones Agency visited the site to inspect the progress of the work this Wednesday, May 17, 2023 .

The mission members expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the production works of the Musienene Special Economic Zone. Jean Dieudonné Kavese, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Industry, indicated that the delegation will be useful to facilitate the intervention of the various actors involved.

The delegation visited several places, including the special economic zone of Musienene, the Mikaela maize flour production factory in Musienene, as well as the SOPROCOPIV factory in Kyambogho. However, the Musienene Special Economic Zone has been the center of attention as it represents a major project in the Congolese government’s initiative to promote the industrialization of the country.

According to Jean Dieudonné Kavese, the achievement of industrial production is on track and progress is visible. He added that now is the time to lay blessing stones and not just foundation stones. However, it is important to continue to work together to promote the development of this special economic zone and of the Congolese economy as a whole.

This is a major step in the realization of the government initiative to promote the industry in the DRC. The Musienene Special Economic Zone is an important project that will create jobs for the local population and stimulate the development of the region.

In conclusion, this visit is to be welcomed because it allows us to see the progress made in the realization of the special economic zone of Musienene and in the desire to promote the industrialization of the DRC.
