Presentation of alleged bandits in Beni: a step closer to security?

Here is a fresh and relevant article that talks about the presentation of the alleged bandits to the press in Beni, North Kivu, held on Friday, May 12. In all, 22 alleged bandits, including 3 women, were presented to the press by the Congolese National Police (PNC). These bandits were arrested during various operations to dismantle groups of attackers in town, Beni and Butembo.

Nasson Murara, communicator of the PNC urban police station of Beni, urged the population of this city to collaborate with the elements of order to overcome this cycle of crime which continues to plague their city. Indeed, Beni is facing an upsurge in insecurity, despite the state of siege that has been established in the region.

Note that these alleged bandits were apprehended in a bar located in the Malepe district, a strategic place in the city.

It is the responsibility of every citizen to cooperate with the authorities by communicating any information likely to help in the fight against local crime. It is to be hoped that this PNC initiative will be a further step towards peace and security in the city of Beni.
