Article: Two traffic accidents took place in Kongo-Central causing one death and several injuries

The heavy toll of the road continues in Kongo-Central. Indeed, two traffic accidents occurred during the past week. The latest occurred in the territory of Songololo on Friday May 12, around 10 p.m., where a heavy vehicle belonging to the company FC Congo overturned following a speeding violation. After the accident, the driver fled. The toll is unfortunately heavy, with a passenger who died instantly and a passenger seriously injured, but miraculously still alive after being stuck in the cabin for several hours.

The second accident occurred on Wednesday, May 10 in Boma, as three people, including two finalists in the out-of-session state exams, were heading to their exam center on two motorcycles. Unfortunately, the two two-wheelers collided, causing three serious injuries including two students and the driver of a motorcycle, all three having been transported to a health facility for treatment.

The main cause of these accidents with often dramatic outcomes seems to be speeding in the province of Kongo-Central. Observers recommend that motorists and motorcyclists be seriously educated in order to prevent accidents on the road.

Traffic accidents have become a real scourge in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Preventive measures are not always enough to limit the loss of human life and material damage. It is therefore crucial that everyone agrees to scrupulously respect the highway code in order to protect their own lives and those of others on the road.
