“In Beni, the police arrest 22 suspected bandits in town despite the state of siege”

Banditry continues to plague the town of Beni, in North Kivu. This week, the Congolese National Police arrested 22 suspected bandits during various operations to dismantle groups of attackers in the city. Among these people are three women and two other men arrested in Butembo.

Banditry is a scourge for the city of Beni, which persists despite the state of siege in force in the region. The population is called upon to collaborate with the police in order to put an end to this persistent crime.

In recent years, the Democratic Republic of Congo has experienced several major challenges, such as kidnappings, floods, modernization of ports, and defense cooperation with Indonesia. The country has also experienced challenges in its relations with the East African Union as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission.

We hope that these arrests will help reduce the number of crimes in the Beni region, and that the efforts of the Congolese National Police will be successful.
