“Felix Tshisekedi touting investment opportunities in the DRC during an official visit to Botswana”

Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, made a very remarkable official visit to Botswana, on the occasion of the DRC-Botswana business forum. On this occasion, he praised the investment opportunities offered by his country, particularly in the processing of raw materials, in order to create added value and promote growth.

President Tshisekedi also spoke of the good relations between the DRC and Botswana, stressing the opening of the DRC Embassy in Gaborone, a sign of a desire to strengthen bilateral relations. He also recalled that the DRC was a country with significant potential in natural resources, particularly oil and gas.

This landmark visit was also an opportunity for President Tshisekedi to affirm his vision of transforming the Congolese economy, whose mining orientation should be rethought for local development of raw materials. For this, he called on Botswana economic operators to come and invest in his country, which is a market of almost 100 million consumers.

Finally, the great Inga project was mentioned, which would make it possible to transport energy to the depths of southern Africa. This visit by Félix Tshisekedi marks his desire to open up the DRC to international trade and foreign investment, with a view to transforming and developing its economy.
