The Congolese government announced Friday, May 12 the temporary suspension of plenary sessions in the Provincial Assembly of Tanganyika. The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Interior and Security, Peter Kazadi, expressed this decision to prevent any disturbance likely to disturb social peace in the region.
In a document made public, Peter Kazadi added that the invitation had been extended to the leadership of the Provincial Assembly of Tanganyika for a consultation in Kinshasa. This initiative would aim to restore calm and serenity in this part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This measure comes as Tanganyika has been experiencing an internal crisis situation for several weeks. Although the reason for this crisis has not been clearly specified, it testifies to the difficulties encountered by certain provinces of the country in their democratic process.
Despite this tense situation, the provincial authorities of Tanganyika wanted to show their solidarity with the local population. They are currently working to find lasting solutions to strengthen the political, economic and social stability of the region.
In addition, several articles have recently been published on Fatshimeterie’s blog to report on current events in the DRC. Some of these articles dealt with the internal crisis at the Union Nationale Congolaise, calling on young people in South Kivu to work for a prosperous and corruption-free DRC. Others highlighted the distribution of a sum of 753 billion CDF between the provinces, underlining its impact on their economic development.
Other subjects such as the renovation of the central Zando market in Kinshasa, the financing of displaced populations by IPAS, or the conference by Mrs. Michela Wrong on Rwanda, were also discussed. All these themes are representative of the richness of the news in the DRC and its socio-economic issues
