“The DRC and Botswana sign a promising economic partnership at the Gaberone forum”

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has signed an economic partnership with Botswana. The agreement was signed during the Gaberone economic forum which brought together Congolese and Botswana entrepreneurs. The partnership, signed between the Botswana Investment and Trade Center and the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments of the DRC (ANAPI), will mutually promote investments between the two countries.

Head of State Félix Tshisekedi and his counterpart Mokgweetsi Masisi attended the Gaberone economic forum. Félix Tshisekedi encouraged Botswana economic operators to come and invest in the DRC and to collaborate with Congolese entrepreneurs.

In his speech for the occasion, Félix Tshisekedi underlined that the DRC is committed to intra-African partnerships, an orientation which led the DRC to sign a collaboration agreement with Zambia for the joint management of the battery manufacturing project. electricity, as well as a memorandum of understanding with Equatorial Guinea for the financing and construction of an oil refinery.

The President of the DRC also recalled that his country has moved towards sectors with high growth potential, in particular mining, hydrocarbons, and agriculture, in order to guarantee sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Finally, Felix Tshisekedi stressed the importance of the private sector and the favorable business climate to stimulate economic growth and create jobs to improve the standard of living of the populations.
