Kinshasa’s central market, better known as Zando, is being renovated. A visit by the governor of the city, Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka, this Saturday, May 13, confirmed that the work is progressing rapidly. The provincial project coordinator expressed his satisfaction by stating that more than 14 meters of elbows were completed in just 4 months with more than 1,500 feet.
The central market of Kinshasa, after the renovation, will have three floors and will be able to accommodate more than 80,000 people on an area of 40,000 m². In addition, a waste disposal mechanism will also be provided for the well-being of users.
These renovations are a significant step forward for the city of Kinshasa, which will be able to offer a modern and larger infrastructure for traders and buyers. The reopening of the central market is scheduled for November 2023.
