South Kivu is rocked by mutual accusations between two old political leaders in the province. Professor Mushi Bonane and Minister of Economy Vital Kamerhe accuse each other of having done nothing for the population and the province, despite several decades of politics and the wealth amassed on the backs of Kivutian youth. This quarrel reflects the general malaise of the population, which feels abandoned by its elected officials.
Faced with this situation, Alain Shukuru, young leader of South Kivu and part of Nouvel Élan of former Prime Minister Adolphe Muzito, calls on young people to implement change by sweeping away the old political castes which use the people for strictly private purposes.
He calls on young people to unite to express their desire for the renewal of the political class and to place their trust in young people who will not be content to conduct their business or congregate in political schemes to the detriment of the people.
It is time for the youth of the province to take their destiny into their own hands by rejecting the gift of words without deeds that we have seen in certain politicians and by supporting young politicians who have their lives in place and who will better understand the problems of the Kivutian population.
Youth are key to a successful political transition in the DRC, and Alain Shukuru calls on the population to support young political aspirants and give them a chance to lead the province towards a better future
