The out-of-session tests of the 2022-2023 state exam in the DRC: a test for the educational future of Congolese students

The out-of-session papers for the 2022-2023 State Examination in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which began on May 8, 2023, have caught the attention of candidates, educators and concerned officials across the country.

In the educational province of Kongo central 2, 8,121 girls and 9,674 boys participated in the essay test, representing a total of 17,795 candidates. The out-of-session exams consist of three different tests: the dissertation, the oral French and the practical jury. The essay tests were followed by technical tests.

The provincial director of EPST Kongo central 2, Jean Tshisekedi Kabasele, called on the finalists to “address these tests with discipline and conviction”. They also expressed their gratitude to the Minister of EPST for his leadership.

It is important to emphasize that state exams offer Congolese students the opportunity to further their education and pursue their careers in many professional fields. Educators and education officials closely monitor the results of these exams to ensure that students receive the education needed to succeed in their future lives.

However, education in the DRC faces major challenges, including limited access to education for girls, limited infrastructure and lack of quality teachers. Action is needed to address these challenges to ensure that Congolese students receive the education they deserve to succeed in their future lives.

Indeed, the DRC faces major challenges in improving its education system. These challenges have driven the need for innovative solutions to improve educational opportunities for Congolese students. Measures to improve inclusion in education and to tackle these challenges should be taken in the future.

In summary, the ongoing out-of-session exams in the DRC are a way for students to continue their education and carve out a future outside of schooling. The vigilance of the authorities is also a criterion for a bright and egalitarian future for all Congolese students.
