Companies and NGOs in the DRC are joining forces to undertake the construction of basic infrastructure in the Kongo Central region. Last Friday, several subcontracting performance contracts were signed between the NGO Bureau management for republicain (BMFR) and various companies and NGOs in the region.
The work concerns the construction of warehouses, social housing and the rehabilitation of roads in all 10 territories that make up the province, in order to improve its access. This marks a major step forward in the vision of the governor of Kongo Central province, who wishes to promote trade with other regions, such as Namibia.
The forthcoming signing of a contract for trade between the province of Kongo Central and two provinces of Namibia, will allow this province to exchange agricultural products in exchange for Namibian fresh and dried food. Activa’s insurance, represented by Arby Muchiri, will ensure the smooth running of the contract for the benefit of all parties involved.
These advances set the region on a new path and will allow the province’s economy to thrive, providing a unique opportunity for the people of the region. Despite certain difficulties, the DRC continues to work for the local development of all its provinces.
Other recent news in the DRC reports the impact of the deadly floods in the South Kivu region, the arrest of a financial cooperative manager for embezzlement in Bandundu and ongoing tensions with Rwanda.
